WMU Salad Supper78 ladies and 6 pastors attended the WOM Salad Supper at Shiloh on September 19. Great music was provided by One Pleasant Faith. We also heard a great testimony from Hannah Langdale about missions in Haiti through the Haiti Under God (HUG) organization. Pastor Bob Craig (Jacksonboro) encouraged churches to be involved in Samaritan's Purse' Operation Christmas Child this year. Pastor James Pedigo (Faith Crossing) gave an inspirational challenge on personal evangelism and the opportunity for Colleton Baptists to be involved through CODE BLUE. An offering in excess of $200 was given to the Colleton Christian Women's/Men's Job Corps. Our thanks to the Shiloh folks and Pastor Ricky Crosby for being such wonderful hosts.
WMU Fall Leadership Training
48 including 2 pastors attended the Fall Training event at Hendersonville Church on August 22. Linda Wynn moderated in Mrs. Peggy Thomas' absence. She introduced a new mission project providing "Encouragement Bags" for travelers who might end up in our local hospital. Leadership training was provided at all levels.
PRISONER PACKETS
Thanks to our churches for providing 407 prisoner packets this year.
Migrant Ministry Health KitsSpecial Thanks to all our churches who provided Health Kits for Migrant Workers. 23 Churches provided 191 kits.
These kits, containing toothpaste, a toothbrush, a bath-size soap, a wash cloth, and a bath towel, are given to seasonal workers along with spanish language tracts and, occasionally, a copy of the scriptures. This assists our Director of Hispanic Ministries, Tony Hancock, and the members of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Esperanza who regularly reach out to the seasonal workers.
